"An introduction to . . . Koh Samui Most Popular Boutique Resort"
A
tiny magical oasis of tropical enchantment, Poppies Samui lies on a pristine white sandy beach in the Gulf of Siam. Located at the
south end of renowned Chaweng beach, well away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort area, Poppies has earned its reputation, since opening
in 1994 as Koh Samui most exclusive boutique hideaway.
A crystal clear free form swimming pool with natural rock formations, and a sparkling Jacuzzi lie between the gardens and
the sea.
Poppies restaurant is now firmly established as the leading restaurant on the island, where you can dine under the
stars overlooking the beach or in the magnificent Ayuthaya-style teak pavilion beside the pool.

Poppies gardens are considered by many regular guests to be
our crowning glory. There can not be many hotels in the world
where the gardening team receive as many accolades as the frontline
staff! Every time you walk through them you will discover some delightful
new flower or feature you missed the time before. To take it all in,
there is a strategically located sala (a Thai style thatched roofed
gazebo) in the heart of Poppies, overlooking the carp filled fishponds,
where you can sit and contemplate.

A few gentle steps from the pool lead you from the hotel directly
onto a white sandy beach. This is probably where you will spend
most of your days, lazing under white canvas parasols on our fully reclining
beach beds. Our attentive beach staff will happily set you up for the
day as well as provide continuous glasses of complimentary iced water
and bar and food service.
The beach itself is completely coral
and stone free so the swimming conditions and visibility (subject to
weather) are of the highest quality. Poppies Samui is owned and managed
by an established team of caring and experienced professionals from
UK, Eire, Thailand and Indonesia (Bali).
Getting to Koh
Samui has never been easier or quicker thanks to Bangkok Airways,
who exclusively operate frequent daily flights from and to Bangkok (domestic
terminal Don Muang Airport), Singapore, Hua Hin, Phuket and Krabi with
a fleet of state-of-the-art Boeing 717 and ATR aircraft. Koh Samui airport
is regarded as one of the most uniquely charming airports in the world.
Poppies is proud to be the first resort on Koh Samui to stop using
plastic water bottles. Plastic poses a serious threat to marine life
and pollutes our land and oceans. Upon check-in, you will receive a
filled, re-usable stainless steel water bottle. This bottle can be
re-filled at multiple stations at Poppies and at other participating
venues on Samui. There is a one time charge of 220 baht for the
logo’d bottle, which we hope you will take home and continue to use.
Thank you for helping Poppies do it’s part to increase
sustainability on Koh Samui.

LOCATION MAP
Koh Samui. Thailand southern paradise island - the third largest in
the country - lies in the Gulf of Siam and has long been famed for its
incomparable beauty as a truly tropical island. Chaweng Beach, with
its silver-white powder-fine sand and crystal-clear blue water, is one
of the best beaches in the world. Poppies lies on the best part, where
there is no coral under the water - just pure sand.
Koh Samui is an island of coconut palms - about 2,5 million of them.
For sightseeing Samui has much to offer - the mountainous interior conceals
coffee and rubber plantations as well as tracts of untouched jungle
and spectacular waterfalls. Strange rock formations abound.
The
most impressive landmark is the Big Buddha, a huge golden image set
on a rocky peninsula jutting into the sea. Other activities include
Elephant Trekking, a visit to a Snake Farm, a Crocodile Farm, or the
Butterfly Garden.
You can watch trained monkeys picking coconuts,
or you can go mountain biking. Poppies owns small jeeps which may be
rented - this is the recommended way to see the island, so bring your
international drivers license. For those who do not wish to drive themselves,
Poppies offers chauffeur-driven day tours, with a picnic lunch provided
by our Chef.
